Temptations

The Prophet SA said: “I have not left behind me any fitnah (temptation) more harmful to men than women.” al-Bukhaari, 5096

How can I save myself, it’s everywhere – in the street, on TV, on the internet, at work…?.

“But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires and lusts. Verily, Paradise will be his abode” 79:40-41

  • Faith and fear of Allaah protects a person from haraam.
  • Lower the gaze and avoid looking at haraam things.
  • Ward off evil thoughts with Azkar and beneficial thoughts
  • Marry ASAP within Sunnah methods.
  • Fast regularly if you cannot afford or able to marry.
  • Keep away from places of temptation.
  • Keep away from bad companions. Replace it with righteous companions.
  • Do not make your houses graves.

If a room/house is connected to sin it will lead to sin repeatedly, as it reminds and provokes to commit it. So make your house a reminder of obedience to Allaah, by doing a lot of acts of worship in your house. This will make you think less of sins, and the calls of desire will grow less.

  • Make the most of your time in worship and beneficial activities.
  • Remember the blessings of al-hoor al-‘iyn and their attributes, whom Allaah has prepared in the hereafter for those who are patient and steadfast.

“Remember often the destroyer of pleasures: death.” al-Tirmidhī 2307
